Building People-centric Health Systems
At FPHS, we recognize the importance of digital safety and its impact on mental, socio-economic, psychological, and physical well-being. That’s why we teamed up with HCLC to publish an insightful book on “Cyber-Bullying and Digital Safety”.
While the internet has revolutionized our lives, it has also brought along its own set of risks, with cyberbullying being one of the most significant concerns. Our book explores this critical issue, providing a comprehensive approach to address the problem.
In India, cyberbullying remains an under-discussed topic, with limited research available to make significant claims. To ensure a holistic understanding, we have also considered studies from across the world, especially the US. We are committed to addressing this important issue and creating a safer digital environment for all.

At FPHS, we believe that good nutrition is essential for a healthy and happy life. That’s why we partnered with multiple collaborators to contribute to a report on “Front-of-Pack Labelling on Unhealthy Food/Drinks Products”.
This report highlights the importance of making healthy food choices, especially for our young population. With the increasing availability of unhealthy food and drink products, it is essential to provide clear and concise information about their nutritional content to help consumers make informed decisions.
Our team at FPHS played an integral role in the development of this report, providing expertise and insights into the impact of unhealthy food and drink products on public health. We collaborated with other experts and stakeholders to prioritize the need for front-of-pack labelling on unhealthy food and drink products.
This report is a significant step towards promoting healthy eating habits and addressing the issue of obesity and other diet-related illnesses. We are proud to have contributed to this important work and will continue to work towards creating a healthier and happier society through our various initiatives.
On emergence of Monkeypox outbreak, FPHS team had written and published a few opinion pieces as well as India’s first review article on the topic, which was published in a peer reviewed medical journal.
Empowering Communities through Outreach Activities: Our Approach to Making a Difference
a. Awareness campaign of Hepatitis B (#reachingtheunreached)
Awareness campaign of Hepatitis B (#reachingtheunreached)
At FPHS, we believe in reaching out to the most marginalized communities to promote better health and well-being. On World Hepatitis Day 2022, we took a step towards “bringing Hepatitis care closer to the community” and organized an awareness campaign among waste collectors of New Seemapuri, Delhi, in collaboration with the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA).
These waste pickers are unsung #wastemanagement workers who work in the field of waste management but are rarely given importance. They are prone to a higher risk of health conditions due to poverty and the working environment. The FPHS team interacted with them and their representatives to understand their knowledge, attitudes, and practices and delivered a health talk on Hepatitis and its preventive measures. We emphasized the importance of Hepatitis B vaccination for their well-being during the health awareness program.

B. Life-Saving Blood Donation Camp:
At FPHS, we believe that improving the health of the community is the need of the hour, and we aim to do this by building trust and partnership among communities. We recently organized a “Blood Donation Camp” to celebrate “World Blood Donors Day” in collaboration with Organum Donum. The event was held on 26th June at Aggarwal Dharmashala, a village located in Mehrauli, South Delhi. The initiative was supported by Dr. Vivek Virendra Singh, Health Specialist, UNICEF India, and Ms. Aarti Singh, the local counselor of ward 68 S, Mehrauli, Delhi.
The response to our call for blood donation was heartening, and we managed to collect a significant amount of blood that will help in saving many lives. It was a proud moment for us to see people coming forward and contributing to this noble cause.
C. Creating Awareness About Waste Management:
FPHS believes in practicing proper waste management and keeping the surroundings clean. On the occasion of #WorldHealthDay2022, our interns conducted a survey and interacted with the local community, including vegetable vendors and shopkeepers, to raise awareness about waste management.
The survey was about waste segregation, and it aimed to gather information on whether people know why they should segregate waste, whether they do it, and how they keep their surroundings clean. The responses were overwhelming, and it was found that people in the locality had a good understanding of waste management and segregated waste at home into different bins.
We believe that community outreach programs like this are crucial in creating awareness about waste management, and we will continue to work towards a cleaner and healthier environment.
Our organization recognizes that communication plays a pivotal role in advancing health and well-being, and we have a strong communications team and technical expertise in public health to support this.
Who we are?
We are a team of passionate public health experts, doctors, and communication specialists who believe that creating a healthy society requires more than just medical interventions. We believe in the power of communication, social and behavior change communications (SBCC), and advocacy to drive social change and improve health outcomes.
Our Expertise
Our expertise lies in designing and implementing customized communication strategies that address the
specific needs of our clients and the communities they serve. We understand the nuances of health communication and have hands-on experience in implementing and designing communication strategies for various projects, including maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and water and sanitation, etc.
Our work
Our overarching objective is to make individuals aware, educated and informed about the benefits of good health practices, and to facilitate behavioral changes as well as a health-seeking mindset. We work in collaboration and convergence with all stakeholders in public health to develop customized communication collaterals to drive noticeable behavior change. Our work includes designing and implementing communication campaigns, developing multimedia products, conducting capacity-building workshops on communications.
What we offer
We offer a wide range of health communication services that cater to the needs of our clients. Our services include:
Communications Strategy: We provide a 360-degree coverage on various communication mediums to reach your target audience effectively.
Capacity Building: We conduct workshops, seminars, webinars, and other knowledge-sharing activities on SBCC, media ethics, and advocacy initiatives to build the capacity of our clients and their stakeholders.
Advocacy Campaigns: We design and implement advocacy campaigns to create awareness, educate, and inform the masses on specific health issues.
Multimedia Product Development: We provide end-to-end development of visual and textual products that help communicate health messages effectively.
Media engagement workshops: Capacity building of media professionals and journalists on
development issues to promote beat journalism on social issues such as public health. We believe that media can play an important role in accelerating the progress towards the achievement of social and development goals. Journalists with specialized knowledge on social issues can uncover stories that don’t get much attention, and report with accuracy and nuance.
Co-organized by We Photo and the Foundation for People-centric Health Systems (FPHS) in collaboration with PATH, this workshop brought together a diverse group of over 30 participants, including public health experts, communication and media professionals, film makers, photographers, and public health students. The goal of the workshop was to explore the intersection of visual communication and public health and discuss how visual storytelling can drive change and raise awareness about health issues.
This initiative represents our first step towards creating a platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and mentored photography and film projects development to tell compelling stories and provide a voice to communities in telling their own stories.
Our first series, focused on public health, aims to visually capture the commercial and social determinants of health (CSDH) and their impact on the health of individuals, communities, and populations. CSDH has long been overlooked, and we hope to use social- impact photography to help reframe the way we relate to public health and its underlying determinants.
Through this initiative, going forward we seek to ‘show and tell’ complex ideas and provide clarity on the social determinants of health.
We want to create a new narrative around these issues and encourage emerging talent to embrace visual storytelling with a social impact lens. We believe that this initiative is a significant step towards making a real impact on public health.
– Sharpening the focus on health stories. This is the second time in a row that we have been
featured by The Lancet- World’s leading medical journal.
